I have visited Los Angeles, CA area many, many times since I was a kid, but never knew before about Bonelli Park. Beautiful and peaceful place. With forest, hills, a lake and cool roads with ups, downs and curves. Not for spirited driving, don't misunderstand me, but for a fun, relaxing cruise. Here is where every year takes place the Bonelli GTG car meeting. You can find 70's and 80's water-cooled VWs, also you can see some newer mark 3s and mark 4s there but older cars is the main thing in this event. As a vintage VW fan I am, all I can say is I just felt like I was in Disneyland. Actually I was aware of this event a couple years ago but it was until this year when I finally had the opportunity to attend: Lots of classic Golfs, Jettas, Sciroccos, Corrados, Rabbits and so on in great shape! I had a talk with some of the owners of these cars including the guys from the Tijuana-based Westside Car Club. I was invited to attend their next Euromeet car show that took place there the next weekend after the Bonelli GTG but unfortunately I couldn't assist. Hopefully the next year to bring to you what's the Euro scene up to in that mexican border city. Back to Bonelli, it's a wonderful place and meeting. The views are amazing and showing off your ride there is absolutely sweet. I drived 3 and a half hours in my 2014 Jetta Clásico to arrive. I noticed visitors from far away, one of them from Connecticut, I say because of the license plate on the car which by the way was an awesome Deep Blue Mk4 R32 with OZ Superleggeras.
